Microsoft has released its own tests that show IE8 can load many websites faster than two open source browsers: Firefox and Chrome. Now if they would just give us a release date!

Based on visitors to my web site, the following chart shows clearly that IE is still the preferred browser by a large percentage. This is based on an average of 4,346 unique visitors and 526,059 hits per month:
